We are Aberdeen's oldest independent arts club, run by members for members, with the aim to provide enjoyment to anyone with an interest in the arts.
Established over 100 years ago, the club is located in 8 Bon Accord Square which itself features in the architectural history of the city of Aberdeen. Designed by Archibald Simpson, Bon Accord Square was laid out for the Tailor Craft in the 1820s and a memorial of Archibald Simpson can be found in the centre of the square.
During its early years the club was a hub for different social gatherings and members enjoyed billiards, music evenings as well as performing their own plays. Most importantly however the club was used as a social venue where creative people could meet and draw and paint together - a tradition that is carried on to this day by its current members.
The Northern Arts Club welcomes creative people of all ages and abilities from the novice to the seasoned artist. Our aim is to offer all artists a unique place to meet, relax and paint in this fantastic historic building flooded with natural light.
