On the 30th September, we ran a Weekend Workshop with Joe Fan RSA, providing an opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and skill of this award winning artist.
Joe obtained a First Class Honours in Fine Art from Grays in 1988 before returning to Grays in 1990 to lecture in drawing and painting. Joe Fan has established himself as a well respected artist exhibiting at many venues.
The workshop was for a mixed ability group and covered a variety of still life studies set up to draw and make into a final painting. The group learnt how to arrange and create a strong composition; use colour confidently, and have fun exploring the different ways to work with oils and acrylics.
The Weekend Workshop included individual guidance, tuition and help on different painting techniques. Here are some of the fantastic paintings produced at the Weekend Workshop with expert guidance and encouragement from Tutor Joe Fan RSA:
