Chiaroscuro

The last session of "In The Flesh" Mini Masterclass was learning about the Chiaroscuro technique of light and dark. An interesting way to learn this is to practise reductive drawing and painting. After covering the paper with charcoal or paint to produce a mid-tone, the drawing is created by gradually removing the paint or charcoal to pull out the highlights and clear tonal contrasts.
